SOURYANA
LOCATIONDubai, UAESECTORRESTAURANTSSCOPEDesign & Fit-Out
A Damascene courtyard brought indoors — bougainvillea spilling over white walls, mashrabiya screens, lanterns and citrus trees set around a classic star-patterned floor.
THE BRIEF
Souryana was conceived as a love letter to the traditional Syrian house, where life gathers around a shaded inner courtyard. White-washed walls, carved timber screens and arched windows frame the dining room, while orange and lemon trees bring colour and fragrance to the tables.
Deep blue velvet seating, brass lanterns and an ornate gilded mirror add warmth and theatre, and the geometric floor ties every zone together. Black Opal delivered the project from design through full fit-out, including the planted outdoor terrace facing the street.
